So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Throughout this book you will learn how to configure Drupal from the administration area and how to build template files using scripting and markup languages. You have already made the commitment to working with the Drupal framework. Framework is a term that is often tossed around by developers, designers, and software pundits. Of course, you know what a framework is, but stopping to think about the definition will help to set the tone for much of this chapter. According to Wikipedia, a framework is “a basic conceptual structure used to solve or address complex issues.” This chapter introduces the tools you need to build Web sites within the Drupal framework.
