It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

I have been avidly analyzing the stock market for more than 30 years, first as a market columnist for The Wall Street Journal for seven years, followed by 26 years at BusinessWeek magazine, where I continue to write the “Inside Wall Street” column. Fortified with all that experience and seasoning, I felt I had to write this book for investors who have been bewildered and frustrated by Wall Street.
I joined BusinessWeek on August 3, 1981, purposely to write the “Inside Wall Street” column after its previous writer resigned to join a Wall Street firm.
