Chapter 4. OLAS Elaboration Phase
4.1 Introduction
The focus of this chapter will be to perform some preliminary analysis using concept maps to create a first-cut logical architecture. Once we have this architecture, we can proceed in subsequent chapters to develop a robust set of analysis artifacts for OLAS.
We’re going to begin Elaboration (see Figure 4-1) by taking a close look at the single Inception artifact, the OLAS Vision Statement. You might want to go back to this and read it through again to refresh your memory. The OLAS Vision Statement is very good compared to some that you might see. It sets out the essential requirements and business drivers for the system clearly - and that’s all you can really ask of any Vision Statement.
