The Strategy to Results Gap: Why Execution Matters

What the hell is going on out there?

Several years ago, we were working with the top 25 leaders of an organization that had been struggling for a while. We started simply: we asked the leaders to write down the company’s top three priorities for resolving their issues and improving their results. Ideally, if the organization was truly aligned and driving its Strategy to Execution to Results, we would have ended up with one list of three. Instead, we got back 25 nearly unique lists, consisting of about 70 different “top priorities.”
