About the Author

During the course of being a Professor of Game Development and Computer Art for over 17 years, I have had the privilege of teaching thousands of students a diverse array of courses, including digital sculpture, 3D modeling, texturing, game design and development, animation, rigging, visual effects, digital painting, and programming. This book is a compilation of material developed from my introduction to digital sculpting lectures and all of the good advice I have managed to cultivate over the years. I am a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the Association of Science Fiction Illustrators, and have worked as a 3D Lead for Ascent Games while doing occasional freelance work.
