Lighting is incredibly important to setting a mood and creating drama in your work. The right lighting can make or break an image. Chiaroscuro, Film Noir, or just sunlight can define the emotional tone of your work. So, how do we do it in ZBrush?
Open the Light menu at the top of the window and drag the palette to the left tray. Now activate the first light by pressing on the first light-bulb icon (called a light switch in ZBrush) and turning it orange. Grab the dot on the sample sphere and move it ever so slightly to the left to change the position of the light. Set the following values in the sliders immediately underneath the light-bulb icons:
- Intensity = 0.85, Ambient = 0;
- Light.Properties.Shadow: on.
