Navigating the LLVM source – general advice
Before proceeding with learning more about the LLVM implementation, note that there are points that are worth understanding, chiefly for new programmers in the world of open source software. If you were working in a closed-source project inside a company, you would probably get lot of help from fellow programmers who are older than you in the project and have a deeper understanding about many design decisions that might sound obscure to you at first. If you run into problems, the author of a component will probably be willing to explain it to you orally.
