Chapter 12. Visitors Overview

The Visitors reports section is where you can find all the information you’ll want to know about your visitors. This includes reports that show where your users are located, how they connect to the Internet, and how often they return to you.

The opening page for this report section is called Visitors Overview. This page, shown in Figure 12-1, gives you a quick overview of the most important data in the Visitors section.

Visitors

By default, the top chart shows the number of visitors who have been to your site in the given time period. The next figure shows how you can change that chart to represent several different views of your visitor data:

  • Visitors (the default view)

  • Visits

  • Page Views

  • Pages/Visit

  • Avg. Time on Site

  • Bounce Rate

  • % New Visits

Access these options by clicking the Visitors drop-down menu in the right corner of the report, as shown in Figure 12-2. Select the option that you would like to view to close the menu and view the selected data. There is one thing about changing this data that you should know. The change is temporary. If you navigate away from the Visitors Overview, when you return the report will again reflect the number of visitors to your site.
