Take a look at Figure 5.1. You'll see the Preferences node in the Group Policy editor.

You might be thinking to yourself, "Preferences? What's a preference? I thought this whole book was on Group Policy, so why is there a node called Preferences?"

And others might be thinking, "I've been using Group Policy for a long time, and never saw that Preferences node. Where did it come from and what do I download to start using it?"

Preferences are a relatively new part of the Group Policy world we've come to know, love, and inhabit.
