3 Digital TV and High Definition
While often referred to interchangeably, digital television (DTV) and high definition television (HDTV) are not one in the same. Digital television refers to the method of transmission of a television signal. High Definition television describes the resolution, or picture quality, of the program being transmitted. And, while high definition television is broadcast digitally, digital television need not be high definition.
