Like any subgroup, hackerspace members use a specialized vocabulary. The following glossary explains some of the more obscure terms found in this book.
1337: See elite.
2600: Legendary hacker magazine, published quarterly since 1984.
31337: See elite.
3D printer: A printer that lays down layers of plastic rather than using ink. As the plastic builds up, a three-dimensional object takes form.
arduino: An easy-to-program microcontroller, favored by everyone from artists to electrical engineers for its ability to rapidly bring an idea to the prototype stage. Arduino is also the name of the language that programs arduinos.
