Information is becoming widely available via global networks. These connected networks allow cross references among databases. The advent of multimedia is allows different applications to mix sound, images, and video and interaction with a large amount of information (e.g., in e-business, distance learning, and human-machine interface). The industry is investing to deliver audio, still image, and video data in electronic form to customers, and broadcast televisions companies, major corporations, and photo archivers are converting their archive contents from analog to digital form. This movement from traditional media, such as paper documents, analog recordings, to digital media is due to the several advantages of digital media over the traditional media.
