Database Server System Requirements
In this chapter, you'll learn how to install the Oracle XE database server, which includes the Oracle Database 10g software, a starter database, and client tools that you can use to interact with the database server. Before you get started, make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements to succeed. Tables 2-1 and 2-2 document the basic system requirements that your computer must meet in order to successfully install the Oracle XE database server for Microsoft Windows.
Notice in Table 2-1 that there are both minimum and recommended settings. For your best experience with Oracle XE, I advise that you meet the recommended settings.
