In this chapter, we have covered two more authentication mechanisms, namely CAS and JAAS, supported by Spring Security, through hands-on coding examples. Again, we have used the sample application build as part of Chapter 2, Deep Diving into Spring Security, as a base to explain the working and implementation of other authentication mechanisms. We then covered some important concepts and the customization possible in Spring Security.
In this chapter, we intentionally didn't use reactive programming in our coding examples. This chapter was aimed at making you understand the core concepts of each CAS and JAAS authentication mechanism by making use of the familiar Spring Web MVC application framework.
