It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The first edition of High Power Microwaves was a technical monograph that reflected the research and trends up until that time. The second edition1 was a textbook that adopted a systems point of view, and so added chapters on the systems approach – ultrawideband sources – which introduced problems for students and included a high power microwaves (HPM) formulary.2 Therefore, it was substantially larger than the first edition.
