I must admit (and you’ve probably realized this by now) that I’m a big, big fan of the word “stuff.” I think it’s one of the most incredible words ever created because it’s a bulletproof, catchall phrase that can literally mean anything you want it to. For example, let’s do a few drills: Let’s say you come walking into the house late one night, carrying a small paper bag. Your spouse sees you with the bag and asks, “Hey, what’s in the bag?” You answer, “Stuff.” Your spouse says, “What kinda stuff?” Now, check this out: you can answer again the exact same way—just say, “Stuff” (and sound a little annoyed that you had to answer twice), ...
