Trends and Correlations

5.1 Trends

Trends give us time to plan and time to advise and alert other areas of the business. Failure to do this by workforce planners often has serious consequences in terms of panic recruitment and instability through competency drop. In this chapter, we will look at some of the formulas that work and give examples of how they may be used, using some current case studies. Beware in the area of trend analysis, as these are most of the old academic formulas that either don’t work well in practice or which have been replaced with relevant software.
