8.1 Background to the Dashboard Concept
The productivity dashboard is a significant leap ahead for HR and is far more in tune with what is done to produce real organizational results. The first move in this measurement many years ago was the Key performance indicators. They were a good start—bit just like competencies, the process rapidly got overcomplicated as various consultancy companies sought to “Sell” the system—warts and all. Working with key performance indicators can, if one is not careful, work against the total benefit to the organization.
