It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

16.1.5 Availability
While this design provides a higher-availability design than for the single director
model, a failure in the SAN fabric could result in all hosts losing access to the
devices. For example, if an invalid zoning change was made to the fabric or the
fabric was corrupted, this would affect all devices in the SAN.
