It is possible to install Linux onto the mainframe from physical CDs. However, we recommend
that you install it over the network from another server using the Network File System (NFS).
To accomplish this, we recommend that you set up a PC Linux system. This server supplies
both the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 distribution and the files associated with this book.
The server must have at least 2 GB of free disk space for one install tree. It requires about
