Chapter 2. Create & Save Files
In this chapter you’ll learn how to launch Illustrator; create a new document; preview, open, and create templates; define the working and printable areas of a document; save a document in the Adobe Illustrator file format; save a copy of a document; close a document; and quit/exit Illustrator.
Launching Illustrator
A new document window doesn’t appear automatically when you launch Illustrator. To create a new document after launching the application, see page 29.
To launch Illustrator in Macintosh
On the startup drive, open the Applications > Adobe Illustrator CS3 folder, then double-click the Adobe Illustrator CS3 application icon.
