Three-tier document retrieval: Three tier document retrieval tests were
conducted using Java code that called the Java APIs. It was felt that this
would most accurately reflect the projected usage. The predicted
ad hoc
nature of the three-tier retrieval requests would be dealt with by configuring
the server to handle a load that would be higher than the maximum expected
load. This is simply done by allocating more server threads than the tests
called for and by allocating an additional servant in the WebSphere
Application Server.
