Installing Apache Tomcat Software
The Apache Tomcat software is an open source web server. Version 10 of the software implements parts of the Jakarta EE platform (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/ee4j.jakartaee-platform), while version 9 and earlier implement parts of the Java EE specification.
In the following sections, we are going to describe the process of installing Apache Tomcat version 9. The manual installation is similar on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
