6. Registries and UDDI

Registries are the electronic databases that enable businesses to store and access business and services-related information in an Extensible Markup Language (XML) format. Registries enable businesses to store this information as per popular taxonomies or industrial classification schema. These databases act as an electronic version of White, Yellow, or Green Pages. A Registry can be a public registry or a private registry.
