Storage pools
This chapter describes how IBM Storwize V7000 manages physical storage resources. All storage resources that are under the system control are managed by using storage pools or MDisk groups. Storage pools aggregate internal and external capacity and provide the containers in which you can create volumes. Storage pools make it easier to dynamically allocate resources, maximize productivity, and reduce costs.
