1. Getting Started

One of the reasons why InDesign became popular is that it uses many of the same tools, panels, and onscreen elements that are found in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. As those applications have changed, so has InDesign. For instance, Photoshop and Illustrator introduced a new dark interface with version CS6. InDesign caught up with the same interface in this version, InDesign CC. (Remember, though, that I’m using the light version of the interface to make it easier to see the illustrations in this book.)
