One of the reasons why InDesign became popular is that it uses many of the same tools, panels, and onscreen elements that are found in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. As those applications have changed, so has InDesign. For instance, all three programs allow you to choose a dark, medium dark, or light interface for the panels and areas around the document. Remember, even though InDesign ships with the dark interface, this book uses the light setting to make it easier for you to view the screen illustrations in print.
