Chapter 25. Object Libraries
An object library is a special kind of InDesign file which can contain any of the objects which InDesign can work with—text frames, pictures, rules, groups of objects, and more. In this way, it’s basically the same as what QuarkXPress calls a library. However, InDesign’s object libraries go far beyond what you can do in XPress, letting you add guides or entire pages, label objects with keywords, and perform complex searching to find just the library object you’re looking for.
Creating and Managing Libraries
You create an object library in InDesign as in XPress: choose Library from the New submenu (under the File menu). The library file appears on screen as a small palette (see Figure 25-1).
