Chapter 1 Overview of the Entrepreneur's Journey
The entrepreneur's journey is an exciting one, which can take many different paths and roads. In both our collective journeys as entrepreneurs, mentors and investors, we have seen hundreds of different start-ups. Based on those experiences, we have seen a common framework emerge. It is this framework that we used to build our book, where we have framed five major steps in the entrepreneur's journey: The Idea, The Evaluation, The Development, The Pitch and The Breakthrough. We illustrate this journey in Figure 1.1.
