THE CHANGE PROCESS

Bringing about change in an organization should be considered a process. Like any other process, the starting point is what we call the “status quo” or AS/IS status. At this step in the process, it is relatively a stable process that the employees have become familiar with and are confident that they can perform at a level that is acceptable to management. They may not like everything that is going on, but they are familiar with it and feel comfortable with it (see Figure 12.1).
