CHAPTER 11The State of Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cybersecurity: Some Insights and Statistics
Artificial intelligence (AI) has a lot to offer cybersecurity in new capabilities and in the perspective of significantly augmenting defensive operations in threat environments. Everything anyone does online is influenced by the threat horizon. Therefore, a company or individual needs to know what is in your system and who might be acting strangely.
In a world where sensors and algorithms are convergent, automated cybersecurity solutions for threat detection, information assurance, and resilience may serve as the binding agents that enable enterprises to leverage emerging technology to the fullest extent possible while maintaining operational security. With on-premises systems, cloud computing, and edge computing, the total IT perimeter for many businesses and institutions is now more complicated and distributed, calling for improved threat detection, analysis, and incident response as well as increased visibility. This is the core component of smart cybersecurity.
Cyber-threat detection, filtration, neutralization, and remediation are all made possible by smart cybersecurity, which has great promise. Moreover, predictive and generative AI algorithms have the potential to leverage predictive models more efficiently in cybersecurity, leading to enhanced security data and superior results.
