So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Integrating Components Already Installed on Target Systems
If the installer needs a component that should already be installed on the target system, use the Find Component in Registry action to locate that component. This action searches for the component by using the Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) specified for the component. The component's location can then be used as an installation location by the installer.
The installer can compare versions and locate the highest version found or search for the key file.
