I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

It is a rare treat to be asked to write a foreword to the sixth edition of Doug Comer's now classic book on TCP/IP and the Internet. In 2012, there are nearly 3 billion people on line. Something like 6.5 billion mobile phones are in use and many of these are “smart phones” that have access to the Internet via the wireless telephone network and through Wi-Fi.
