CHAPTER 8Master Data Services
The first release of Master Data Services (MDS) appeared in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 to support master data management. In the current release, you find improvements in some areas of the user interface and a new feature for managing your master data, the MDS Add-in for Excel. In addition, there are deprecated features and discontinued features that change the way you work with MDS. Collectively, these changes to MDS simplify the implementation, workflows, and administration of MDS.
