I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Superalloys for gas turbine engines
12.1 Introduction
Superalloys are a group of nickel, iron–nickel and cobalt alloys used in aircraft turbine engines for their exceptional heat-resistant properties. Materials used in jet engines must perform for long periods of time in a demanding environment involving high temperature, high stress and hot corrosive gas. Many materials simply cannot survive the severe conditions in the hottest sections of engines, where the temperatures reach ~ 1300 °C. Superalloys, on the other hand, possess many properties required by a jet-engine material such as high strength, long fatigue life, fracture toughness, creep resistance and stress-rupture resistance at high temperature.
