Joaquín Abellán co-authored Chapter 10 (Classification). He is an associate professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and a member of the research group on Uncertainty Treatment on Artificial Intelligence (UTAI) at the University of Granada. His current research interests are representation of the information via imprecise probabilities; definition and analysis of information/uncertainty measures on imprecise probabilities; and their applications, principally in the data mining area. Alessandro Antonucci (PhD in computer science, '08) co-authored Chapter 9 (Probabilistic graphical models). He is a Researcher at IDSIA, in Switzerland, with the Imprecise Probability Group (http://ipg.idsia.ch). He also teaches computational mathematics at SUPSI, in Switzerland. He is the Treasurer and an former Executive Editor of SIPTA, the Society for Imprecise Probability: Theory and Applications. His interests include probabilistic graphical models, classification, and the development of knowledge-based expert systems. For further information, see http://www.idsia.ch/∼alessandro
Thomas Augustin co-authored Chapter 7 (Statistical inference). He is Professor at the Department of Statistics, Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich, and head of the group ‘Foundations of Statistics and Their Applications’ there. He received a PhD at LMU Munich in 1997 and worked as postdoc in Munich and Bielefeld. His ...
