Some of my best and worst investments
I have detailed performance attribution figures only for the last eight years that I ran the Special Situations Fund. I will discuss some of the best and worst investments over that period as well as a few of the stocks that really helped or hindered me before then. These are summarised in Table 1 at the end of this chapter.
My ten best performers from 2000 to 2007 were: Autonomy, ICAP, Gallaher Group, Cairn Energy, MMO2, Amlin, Balfour Beatty, George Wimpey, BG Group and Safeway. My ten worst were: Sportingbet, Rank Group, ITV, GCAP Media, SMG, Premier Foods, Isoft, Cookson Group, SSL Intl., British-Borneo Oil & Gas.
