Chapter 2.Router, Integrated Switch, and IP Phone Basic Configuration

The most basic IP telephony configuration is to make two IP Phones ring. Before making two phones ring and entering the telephony commands, you must configure the router and switch and connect the Cisco IP Phones. Labs 2-4 and 2-5 in this chapter provide configuration basics and deal with routers and either an external switch or an internal switch module. The type of configuration needed depends on what hardware is being used.
