A team that understands what needs to be done and knows how to do it is an incredible asset to the manager of a maintenance team. If you did not take over an existing team that is at this level, then it is your job to develop the team to this level. This chapter is designed to help you and your teams get to that high level of performance. Figure 10-1 shows the progression that we will follow in developing an effective team. We will assume that there is no existing maintenance team.
