The Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is all about displaying things, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is all about making things look good. Using the two of them, you can create some pretty nifty-looking stuff, such as the weather app you can see at http://bit.ly/kirupaWeather. Figure 1.1 shows what this weather app looks like.
