For many network administrators, daily activities involve managing a wide variety of hardware devices. An enterprise setting requires the routers, gateways, bridges, and network servers to be managed and be manageable. For network administration, the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) has emerged and established itself as the de facto management protocol.
