This chapter will discuss interdomain routing protocols and EGPs. Currently BGP4 is the de facto interdomain routing protocol. The primary concern of this chapter, therefore, is to prepare you to configure BGP on Juniper Networks routers. Though there are Juniper Networks–specific examples throughout this chapter, fundamentals and theoretical topics are also covered. This means that if you have experience with other router vendors, drawing the parallels between JUNOS and the others will be easy.
