In closing, I need to remind you one more time that
Requirements management is a means to an end; it is not a goal.
The goal is to build (or acquire) a system that solves some real problem or leverages some real business opportunity. There is no shortage of ways that we can spend enormous amounts of our time performing requirements management. We need to develop the discipline of avoiding such quagmires. On the other hand, the solution is not the extreme of eliminating requirements management—that dooms us to guaranteed project failure.
