CAGE distance framework
The big picture
The CAGE distance framework, introduced by Pankaj Ghemawat, identifies differences between countries that organisations must address when doing business internationally. The framework disaggregates differences on four dimensions: cultural, administrative, geographic and economic (see Figure 70.1). Differences along these dimensions generally have a negative impact on international interactions: the bigger the distance, the more likely it is that international interactions will be (very) unsuccessful.
