It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
5 Lighting Effects
Lighting, shadow, and reflection create dimension in a composition, and it can also be used as a tool to direct the eye to a certain point on the stage. As a design element, a shadow establishes volume, creating “more” than actually exists in a composition. It also helps to set up the mood and meaning in a scene.
