Le traçage distribué, Census, Pivot Tracing et Pythia sont tous des exemples d'outils transversaux. Mais les outils transversaux n'ont pas besoin de porter spécifiquement sur le traçage, ni sur l'enregistrement des données de traçage.
Nous terminerons en jetant un coup d'œil au Tracing Plane, un projet de recherche de 2018 de l'université de Brown.1
L'objectif du plan de traçage est d'abstraire et de généraliser la propagation du contexte utilisée par les outils transversaux. Dans les chapitres 4 et 5, nous avons parlé de l'importance de l'instrumentation abstraite et de l'interopérabilité pour le traçage distribué.
