Leaders can make societies prosper or suffer (Thoroughgood et al., 2018). This chapter is a theoretical discussion about the role of high culture (predominantly scientific and technological knowledge and ethics) in leadership in the distinct features that define leaders. How can high culture (science, technology, ethics) enhance leadership? Does high culture, thus defined, affect leadership’s goodness or effectiveness? How can the elements of modern high culture embedded in the background of the leaders be linked to better leadership in all areas of society?
