WHOLE LEADERSHIP APPROACH TO BUILDING A CLIMATE FOR INNOVATION
Leadership values and practices have the biggest impact on organizational climate. This, in turn, will affect employee motivation and individual and team performance. To achieve a successful team climate, you need to use your head, heart, and guts. As can be seen in Figure 5.3, your head provides clarity of purpose and the outside-in perspective; your guts provide innovation discipline and idea generation; and your heart provides idea support and recognition.
