Overview

Screening a process using Designed experiments involves

• Determining which Xs (both controlled and uncontrolled) affect the Ys
• Eliminating Xs that do not have a large effect from subsequent investigation

Before reading this section it is important that the reader has read and understood “DOE—Introduction” and “DOE—Characterizing” in this chapter. This section covers only designing, analyzing, and interpreting a Screening Design, not the full DOE roadmap.
