It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Scalable vector graphics (SVG) is an XML-based markup language for describing two-dimensional graphics. It’s the main graphics format used by D3 to create data-driven visualizations. SVG shapes are created with XML tags and attributes. They are rendered by mathematical equations and can be scaled without losing resolution.
